The Centre d’art contemporain Genève has taken on therefore a new mission, alongside its habitual programme, to develop a strong platform for the moving image and digital arts. As from 2010, this will be pursued through the organisation of a major annual exhibition which will serve as a platform to develop the Biennale de l'Image en Mouvement (BIM) and Version (flagship activities of the Cic). In 2009, as a prelude to this new mission, the Centre d'Art Contemporain Genève, in collaboration with the Fonds d'art contemporain of the city of Geneva and the Fondation de Saint-Gervais, organised an exhibition, curated by Simon Lamunière, based on works from the Fonds André Iten.
The exhibition « Pourquoi attendre ! » took place in the ground floor and 1st floor of the BAC, between the 11th of December 2009 and the 7th of February 2010.
The collection of videos (constituted in past years by the Cic), known as « Fonds André Iten », is now hosted by the Fonds d'art contemporain de la Ville de Genève (Fmac). The latter is currently in the process of creating an inventory, which will enable the Fonds André Iten's public use within the walls of the Fmac's Mediathèque, which opened on the 10th of December 2010.
